Summer II Details

HEAL's Summer Intensives are designed to give you the fundamentals of becoming a physician. It is an opportunity to take the first step on your health careers journey.

  • You will receive up to 30 hours of clinical shadowing credit.

  • The fantastic content for Summer II is being offered for $599.
    Take the entire Summer Intensive for $999.

  • Building upon the physician fundamentals learned in Summer I, you will have the opportunity to watch and discuss ReelDx clinical patient cases with a respected physician.

  • You'll participate in mentoring classes designed to help you understand how to become a leader on your campus as well as the art of managing energy and stamina throughout your medical school application journey.

  • You will study four different specialty courses asynchronously. They will give you in-depth knowledge on emergent internal medicine, surgery and public health, thinking fast in the ER, and the family medicine approach to the GI system. As they are studied asynchronously, you can complete them at a time that works best for you!

Meet the Preceptors

Samantha LaQua, MD

Dr. Samantha LaQua is a board-certified family medicine physician currently finishing up her Obstetrics Fellowship in July to be C-Section certified and provide full spectrum family medicine care. She is originally from the beautiful island of Grenada and went to Medical School at SUNY Upstate Medical University in NY. She did her residency at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona and is currently finishing up her Fellowship in Florida. She thoroughly enjoys spreading the joys of medicine, encouraging her patients and students and delivering babies! In her spare time you can find her wedding planning as she is soon to be married in September! She is excited and thrilled to be a part of the HEAL team!


Janet Snoyer

Janet’s advising career in Ithaca, NY has involved work as a learning strategies counselor, admissions officer at a university, teacher of college success courses, college success counselor, writer of committee letters for students applying to medical school, and chief advisor at an Ivy League university that sends over 250 applicants to medical school each year. She has advised students on every aspect of the medical and dental admissions cycle.
