Bryan D’Ostroph

Bryan D’Ostroph is a current first year medical student at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. He is originally from Whispering Pines, NC (a tiny town in the middle of the state) and graduated from Washington and Lee University with majors in Neuroscience and Anthropology and a minor in Poverty & Human Capability Studies. After graduating, he took a gap year to conduct clinical research at the University of Virginia where he was involved in a type 1 diabetes clinical trial. Bryan is currently in Scranton, PA (where he just learned how to shovel snow) and is part of the Abigail Geisinger Scholars Program that aims to increase the number of primary care providers in Northeast Pennsylvania. His interests in medicine include exploring social determinants of health, medical education, and increasing access to care among underserved patient populations. Outside of medicine, Bryan is often found hiking through cool mountain trails, finding the best Thai food in town, or tending to his beloved umbrella plant named Rihanna!
