Kate Fruitman

Kate Fruitman is a third-year medical student at Weill Cornell Medicine from New York, New York interested in pursuing Psychiatry. Kate completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Human Development with a concentration in Neurochemistry. As an undergraduate, Kate worked as a residential counselor at an inpatient rehabilitation center for patients with Substance Use Disorder, a role which motivated her decision to pursue a career in psychiatry. In medical school, Kate has further developed her interest in mental health through her involvement with the Weill Cornell Medicine Wellness Qlinic, a student-run clinic offering free mental health services to LGBTQ patients. In her free time, Kate likes to listen to audiobooks and take her dog, George, on long walks.
